Ben Hegman is a quantitative environmental scientist with 3 years of experience in GIS, remote sensing, computer programming, web-based visualizations, and spatial data analysis/statistics. His past work focused on the forestry sector in the Cariboo region of British Columbia, where he developed custom geospatial tools to estimate future wildfire susceptibility by monitoring forest metrics and past wildfire recovery. In addition, he has used his expertise in web mapping to visualize avalanche and other snow related accidents in Montana.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Resource Economics and a Master of Geomatics for Environmental Management from the University of British Columbia. He grew up in Vermont and now makes his home in Bellingham, Washington. When not working, he can be found outdoors mountain biking, skiing, and climbing.
